Joel and his nine children have access to water!

Ogwal Olule organising Jerricans at the source.
Dear Laurent, Lokesh, Balaji, Anil, Bill, Chris, David, Sanjiv-Rajani, and Sterling and Melinda,

Joel is 49 years old and is married with nine children. Joel said that since he was born, no borehole well has ever been drilled in his community and that the joy of having such a water source at this time is inexpressible. He added “Ask anyone, young or old and you will believe me.”

To him, the health of the community has greatly improved. Diarrhea that was very common both in adults and children is no longer a problem. In this photo, you can see Joel arranging jerry cans at the water source. Joel’s family lives about 40 meters from this well, and are very happy to have such convenient access to water.

Thank you Laurent, Lokesh, Balaji, Anil, Bill, Chris, David, Sanjiv-Rajani, and Sterling and Melinda for helping support the cost of this well!

Moly no longer has to fetch water from a contaminated source.

Molly OLuma lifting her jerrican.
Dear JUAN, Jonatas, Devin, Dr Steven P, Manisha, Dennis, Cindy, Alice and Brad, Dean and Julie, and Dwayne and Terese,

Molly Oluma is 39 years old, and is married with six children. In the past members of her community shared a water source with wild animals, and as a result, people often became sick. Lots of time was wasted fetching water.

Thanks to your support, Divine Waters Uganda built a borehole well in Molly’s village of Alam in Northern Uganda, which provides her community with clean water that is not contaminated by animals. Now, Molly is able to save time she once spent collecting water, and is able to do other household activities. Her house is about forty meters away from the well.

Thank you all for your generous support of Molly’s family and Divine Waters Uganda!

Connie can now collect water for her family from the village well!

Connie pumping their new water source.
Dear Laura, Anuj, and Christina,

Connie is a girl of 16 years of age. She studied up to third grade, but had to leave school as her family was unable to afford it. Connie dealt with many hardships as a child and was forced to move many times. Right now, she is living with her father§s sister. Her father passed away last October.

There are six people in the home where Connie now lives, and she is responsible for collecting water for the family. Before the borehole was drilled in her village, Connie spent all day collecting water. There were many risks in collecting water, including being buried by collapsed soil from the cliffs around the water source. Some days, Connie would return home without any water.

Thanks to your generous donations, Divine Waters Uganda was able to build a well in the community Connie lives in, a village called Alam in northern Uganda. A special thank you goes to Christina who supported water for 8 people in this community.

Hilda can now collect water for her younger siblings!

Hilda fetching water as her friend pumps
Dear Charlie, Bill and Colleen, Kandace, Luke and Ani, Marc, Mark and Lynn, Peter and Kim, Pradeep, Rajeev, and Rao,

Hilda is a ten year old girl who attends third grade at Arwot Primary School in rural Northern Uganda. She likes all of her subjects at school. She loves her mom very much and is very pleased when her mom is able to rest at home or do other things while she fetches water for the family.

In the past, due to the distance to the former water source, she could not fetch water for her mom in the morning before going to school. Instead, her mom would walk a long distance each day to collect water for the family.

Now Hilda finds it a joy to wake up early and take home water for her mom to use while she is at school. She is able to fetch all the water needed for her family. Hilda is the oldest of seven and likes to be able to help with her younger siblings.

Thank you for your generous donations, which have provided a source of water for ten people in this community!

Sarah and Moses have a reliable source of water for their family!

Acen Sarah now has ample water for use at home.
Dear Danielle, Sanjiv-Rajani, Sterling and Melinda, Adam, Bill, Chris and Emily, Chris, David, and David,

Sarah is 24 years old and she and her husband Moses have four children. They live in the village of Alam in rural Uganda.

When asked about how the well you provided has changed her life she said, “We are overjoyed with the well. It is serving us constantly and reliably. Our family no longer spends money on medication to treat stomach problems and diarrhea. If I were to take you to the former source you could sympathize with the community. Compared with now you can tell the reason for being joyful.

She also explained that in the past, children would not be bathed at all due to scarcity of water. But now, children can be bathed more frequently. Here she is photographed bathing one of her children. She was very happy about how healthy her children had become since receiving a well.

Thank you for your generous donations, which have provided a source of water for ten people in this community!
