Susan no longer drinks unsafe water!

Akello Susan Fetching her water
Dear Alice and Brad, Mark and Lisbet, Bill and Colleen, Sterling and Melinda, Ted and Pam, Sarah, Ray and Lael, Rao, Rajeev, and Mark and Lynn,

Susan is 24 years old and she and her husband Lawrence have four children. They live together in the village of Alam in northern Uganda. Susan reports, “We used to wait so long at our old water source that if you left a visitor at home the visitor may think you ran away! The path to the former source was muddy during the rainy season, the source had many red worms, and the water would turn red when left unused overnight.”

“But now, we tell these as old stories. I can now rest or do something else at the time I should have been waiting at the water source; and when I need water I just walk over to the new source and take very little time.”

She said that she also attended the training that was conducted for the new source. One of the many things they learned was the importance of cleaning the water containers, and she now does this frequently.

Thank you all for providing water for Susan and her family!
