Oluma is 39 years old and is the vice-chairperson of the water source. He is married and has nine children. Oluma uses the new water source you helped provide to make bricks that he bakes in the sun. Over 20 families in the community are now making bricks using water that is fetched from the same water source.
So far, Oluma has made two thousand bricks, but his goal is ten thousand. He would like to build a better home for his family, and is planning to sell some of the bricks at the local market so that he can buy cement and other materials that are not produced locally. Each brick sells for eighty Uganda shillings (about 3 cents).
He also hopes to use some of the income from selling bricks to support the education of his children! Thank you all for your generous support of Oluma’s new well!
